Can anyone recommend a fun, safe and social day trip from Paris to the Champagne region? I will be in Paris at the beginning of November on my own for 4 days and would like to see and experience the Champagne region, perhaps Epernay or Reims.
Hopefully someone can offer some good advice, it would be very much appreciated.

I have only visited these areas by car and can only imagine that a one day train visit from Paris would need to be very well organized.

Reims is 45 minutes away from Paris by train. If you book your ticket ahead on www.voyages-sncf.com, you will save a load of money on the ticket.
I went there with my brother and sister-in-law without specific plans, so we went to the tourist office to the left of the cathedral, which directed us to the next English language champagne tour (since my SIL doesn%26#39;t speak French). Excellent service at that office.

I went solo on a tour and couldn%26#39;t recommend highly enough the tour company (parischampagnetour.com) it was a memorable day. I had been wanting to see the region for years and this turned out to be one of the best days of my trip. You can get more information on the reviews here on TA.

Hello from Texas! I have been to the Champagne
region several times and would suggest that if you
only have one day that you take the train from
Gare de L%26#39;Est to Epernay. There are a number of
Champagne houses on the Blvd. de Champagne including
Moet et Chandon. We found it the best town for a one
day walking tour. You can follow the signs from the
train station to the Tourist Office where you can get
maps and schedules of the tastings. We always tried to get into Epernay around 8:30 am. It is about an
hour or so from Paris!! Enjoy!!

Thank you very much, this really is very helpful, and I will look into the tour.
Kindest regards.
