Nice to Paris: train or plane?

Is the TGV train from Nice to Paris scenic? Is it worth taking the train versus the flight?

We chose to take the TGV from Paris to Nice. we loved it. It was very scenic and pleasant. The seats were so comfortable as well. We felt by the time we would spend going to the airport early and checking in, it would be worth it to see the scenery. My husband always wanted to do a train trip and we would definitely do it that way again. If you are starting in Nice, the TGV leaves from the Niceville train station, which is so convenient. Once in Paris, the transit system there should be able to take you close to your hotel. This is just my opinion, but we enjoyed it.

How long was the train trip from Paris to Nice?

It%26#39;s about a 6 hour trip. Timetables and fares (but only up to 90 days ahead, 120 for the iDTGV a special %26quot;concept%26quot; train aimed at budget-conscious passengers) at voyages-sncf.com

There is no need to travel First Class on the trains in France. I travel Second unless I%26#39;m taking a night train and want a sleeping compartment. Second is more than adequately comfortable (and I have long legs and big feet), it gets there at the same time, and is cheaper. Not much discussion required on this subject.

If you are crossing the ocean with Air France (I think it works with US SkyTeam members too) buying a Chicago/Nice is the same price almost as Chicago/ Paris. You can do a stop over in Paris for as many (or none) days as well.
