Julie & Julia the movie - some great scenes set in Paris

I just came back from the movies. Saw Julie %26amp; Julia. What a fun movie. All about Julia Child and partly set in Paris. Paris makes for a beautiful backdrop, doesn%26#39;t it? When I heard the faint sound of the accordion music and watched the Paris scenes, I had a big smile on my face in the dark movie theatre. The thrilling feeling of a glorious reality set in - I will be there again in just under 7 weeks. The movie inspires one to travel to Paris and eat eat eat! I can%26#39;t wait.

This movie was definitely worth seeing on the %26quot;big screen%26quot; for the scenes in Paris!

How about those vintage metro trains!

I am waiting for a rainy day to see the movie, loved Julia%26#39;s book. After watch the ads for recent movies like Taken and GI Joe Cobra I look forward to seeing a movie set in Paris where the Eiffel Tower isn%26#39;t the back drop for explosions:)

We just saw it last night and it was quite cute though wish we saw more of the Julia slices vs the Julie slices. With all Paris based movies, one immediately tries to figure out exactly where it was shot.

Yes, I always wanted the story to go back to Julia and Paris. I would of liked the whole story to have been about her however, the other Julie is based on a true story too and I think she had a very unique idea to cook her way through Julia Child%26#39;s entire cookbook!

Does anyone know where Julia Child lived out her life?

Agree about the scenes (and feel) of Paris - saw this yesterday and really enjoyed it.

Shack - according to the movie, it seems that she may have been in the Santa Barbara area at the end of her life.

I saw the movie with my wife this afternoon (Sunday), and enjoyed it very much. It%26#39;s rare to find a film these targeted at adults that doesn%26#39;t insult an adult%26#39;s intelligence.

I, too, would have preferred more Julia and Paris, her book on her life in France had soooooo much more information that the movie barely touched, or skipped altogether. I was looking for hints of the neighborhood where she lived and shopped in Paris, such as the fresh food purveyors on the rue de Bourgogne.

As for Julia%26#39;s last years, she very publicly sold her house in Cambridge, Mass., approx. 2001, and moved to a retirement community in Santa Barbara, CA. I had the very great privilege of meeting Julia Child in 1996 at a reception held at her Cambridge home, and was especially privileged to stand in her kitchen by myself and just soak in the ambiance. She had no idea who I was, but that%26#39;s okay, she was very gracious to me.

This movie doesn%26#39;t hit the UK until 11 September. I%26#39;ve %26quot;googled%26quot; for the synposis and it looks like a %26quot;must see%26quot;.

I saw the movie on Friday. It was very good. The general consensus is that %26quot;we should have seen more Julia and less Julie%26quot;. I%26#39;m not sure that%26#39;s fair. I don%26#39;t know how you can compare any actress to the wonderful Meryl Streep.

Hi! I didn%26#39;t necessary mean the actresses (and actors) but rather mean the historical sequences in Paris, etc.

signothetimes~ That is a good memory for sure.
