Recently, I was in Lyon(France) with my wife and we took a wine tour to the Beaujolais region with the Kanpai Agency. It was just brilliant! Beaujolais countryside is beautiful and the 2 wineries we visited were very welcoming and the wine was excellent. The guided tour was in English and our tour guide Olivier was very knowledgeable and nice. Definitively, if you go to Lyon, we recommend this daytrip to the beaujolais!

Thanks for the update, Jerry. I am considering signing up for their Public Tour (all day/80 euros). Was this the one you and your wife did? What made you decide to go with Kanpai? I went to the office de tourisme in Lyon and could only find two options for wine tours. Kanpain seems better than the other one.

just returned tuesday from beaujolais region - i think you will be sorry if you only do a day trip. it is fabulous. we rented a car for 2 days and toured lower maconnaise and beaujolais = stayed in quincien en beaujolais a lovely village at les potins du four - gem of a place. i did not want to leave and cannot wait to go back.. not sure what your budget is though but a car rental can run 200 euro or so for 2 days..
