If anyone%26#39;s interested in staying in or stopping by the Latin Quarter, I spent a great week there with hubby and in-laws, wrote about it at http://www.squidoo.com/latinquarter. Includes some of the best restaurants we found, budget hotels, sights, other tips. Wish I were there right now! Bon voyage everyone :)

Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed reading your review and wrote down a few of your suggestions. I%26#39;ll be staying in the 6th so there will be lots of time to wander in the Latin Quarter.
Only 4 days to go!

Thanks for this post. I am going to Paris Oct 2 and I am staying down the street from you at the Hotel St. Jacques. I am going to Brasserie Balazar which is right next to my hotel. My room supposedly looks out at the Sorbonne. So your pictures really brought the trip home for me.
I am even more excited now.
Thanks for the pictures and report.

I love Balzar! Not only is the food good, but the waiters are a great mix of skilled, gracious %26amp; funny. There%26#39;s a little strip of seating in the front window, too, that%26#39;s great for just a coffee or glass of wine and people watching. I had a half hour to myself at one point and sat there writing postcards and relaxing...bliss :)

thank you! sorry %26#39;bout that...

I was in the Latin Quarter a little over a month ago and just loved staying there. One of my highlights was eating the *amazing* profiteroles at Brasserie Balzar. The Valrhona chocolate sauce drizzled over those yummy little cream puffs was just outstanding! And yes, it%26#39;s a great place to enjoy the waiters as well as the other customers. It has such a fun atmosphere and just makes you want to stay and have one more glass of wine!
Thanks for your trip report and all the wonderful photos.

Margaret333...Where was the outdoor market you went in the Latin Quarter...the picture looked more like a flea market.

lovetotravel5...yes, that particular photo on my web page is a Paris market shot I borrowed from the web, because we didn%26#39;t get any good pix of the market near our hotel. I THINK the one where I got the scarves and skirt was at Place Maubert, but I%26#39;m not sure--need to check with my husband, who%26#39;s better at remembering the exact locations. We stopped at that market on 2 different days--one day it was more like a flea market, with clothing, housewares, jewelry, antiques, etc. The other day there was more food--produce, cheeses, and so on. Will confirm location if I can. It wasn%26#39;t a huge market, but I got good stuff.
