Bus /Navette from Nice airport to Antibes

Dear friends,

DW and I will arrive at Nice airport at 22.05 on Sunday September 20. From previous posts and linked timetables I have understoood that ligne 200 will cease its service from the airport att 21.40. Are there other bus services? A friend of ours was convinced that there was some kind of shuttle (navette) service available. Unfortunately I have not been able to find any details about this. Maybe somebody out there might be able to provide further details. Perhaps the only option available at that time of the day will be a taxi?

Thanks

You are right that the bus servce has finished at that time. The nearest train station is Nice St Augustin, which is about 10 minutes walk from Terminal 1. The last train on Sunday 20 Sept appears to be 22.21 - there is usually a late train at around 2330 on Sundays but not on that date (www.voyages-sncf.com is the website). I think that if your plane arrives at 22.05 you would definitely not make a train at 22.21. So I agree that it is a taxi. The fare is around 45 euro - sometimes a bit more.

There is a night bus which runs on Thursday/Friday/Saturday on the Ligne 200 route (Nice-Cannes via Antibes). Perhaps your friend was thinking of that service. The bus timetables are found at www.rca.tm.fr

The last 200 bus service for antibes is timetabled to leave the airport at 22h00

There is a late train just after midnight -= leaving Nice st augustin at 00h21 arriving antibes at 00h41

Merci beaucoup for your replies!

Seems as if a taxi is the most reasonable solution.

Thanks

You could organise a shuttle service to meet you at the airport -sometimes a little bit cheaper than a taxi

Its been a long time since i%26#39;ve used such a service so i can%26#39;t recommend one

hi Q , as regards a reliable shuttle transfer you could try Transeurope whom I have found very good. Talk to Franco. Email pascale-franco@hotmail.fr or phone 06 63 20 61 65

Sorry to disturb you again ....%26#39;

OK, now we%26#39;re back where we started: the suggested shuttle will charge 55€ (incl tarif de nuit). How much would a regular taxi cost at 22h from Nice airport to Antibes Old Town? Is there any point in ordering the shuttle, and what is the real difference between this service and a regular taxi?

Cordialement

I normally travel during the day and it is 40 euros so looking at the price you are quoted there is 15 euro surchange for the night journey (on the shuttle). Depending on where you are going to in Antibes I guess the average aiport taxi fare is 60 euros during the day. Unfortunately I don%26#39;t know what the taxi night surcharge is at the moment but let%26#39;s say you will probably pay at least 75 euros.

It sounds crazy economics but with low-cost airlines in some situations it is actually cheaper to shift to an earlier flight to stay within public transport availability than to bear the burden of late night taxis. May be worth looking at the options if its practical for you.

The difference shuttle / taxi ?

1. Cheaper

2. They pick you up in arrivals with a piece of cardboard with your name on it. ( Lets you feel a bit superior to your fellow travellers).

3. They usually know where they are going - unlike Nice taxi drivers.

4. They have nice clean people carriers.

5. They expect to see you as a customer again so they are courteous and polite. The driver%26#39;s linguistic skills are also superior.
