We just received an offer from RCI for a week at the end of June in Villefranche (We are also waitlisted for Normandie, Aix-en-Provence, Venice, Florence, and/or Portofino.) The problem with RCI is you never know when or if any of your waitlisted resorts will come available.
My question is: In your opinion, would a week in Villefranche be worth it? Is there enough to do either in the town or by daytripping? Would a car be advisable?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

I have only been there once a few years ago, while visiting a friend who lived in Nice. The village is cute and very %26#39;Cote d%26#39;Azur%26#39;! Few nice restaurants, a waterfront and a beach (as far as I remember). Car would probably be advisable because you can take day day trips...There is a very cheap train from Nice to Ventimiglia in Italy and it stops at all the little places on the way. I took it to visit Villefranche, Eze (favourite swimming spot), Antibes, Monaco, Cannes....There is much to see in that whole area and I think you definitely won%26#39;t be bored. You can take a day trip to one of the hilltop villages that are on almost every hill once you start driving inland from the coast! They are amazing..We dined in one (can%26#39;t remember the name of the village) and it was the best food I%26#39;ve eaten during the whole stay.
