Hi All,
One of the things we%26#39;d love to do in Paris is eat in one of the wonderful restaurants for a special occasion. While we have dined in excellent places in NY and SF, have absolutely no idea about the Paris prices. How expensive is expensive here for a dinner for two with a glass of wine at a place like L%26#39;Atelier de Robuchon or Guy Savoy or Pierre Gagnierre?
Is there any one of those places you%26#39;d recommend more than the others
Thanks so much for all your help. I cant wait to get to Paris and share all my experiences with you.

Hi,
Unfortunately I have never been to any of these restaurants in Paris. You should have a loook at the restaurant reviews here on Trip Advisor. Often those who have written reviews include prices
Good luck and enjoy!

I have eaten at Guy Savoy and thoroughly enjoyed the experience for both the food and the sense of theatre. You could think of maybe E200 or more per person, of which the wine will be around half.
Google these restaurants to get their web sites, and you should find some information on prices.

I think sydneynick must be talking about lunch at GS, not dinner. For dinner at GS or Pierre Gagnaire or any of the other 3-rosette places I think yo should budget a minimum of €250 for the meal with the wine on top of that. A reasonable average with wine would be in the €350 to €400 range but it could go MUCH highter. L%26#39;Atelier de JR is a different story entirely — an entirely different concept and not really comparable to the other two you mention. I%26#39;d say €100-€125 and up plus wine should cover you there.
Lunch is a very different matter. Most of the top restaurants have a prix-fixe lunch menu in the €75 to €95 range, plus wine of course.
Do remember that tax and service are included in these prices though that doesn%26#39;t mean you shouldn%26#39;t tip something, but you don%26#39;t need to add the usual US 25% plus to these prices.
Take a look at the web sites and see which of them appeals to you in terms of the menus and overall %26quot;style.%26quot; Perhaps you would like Le Grand Vefour? http://www.grnd-vefour.com/
Bon appétit!

I see that there would be no problem spending $1,000 or more per couple in restaurants like Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athenee, l%26#39;Arpege, Guy Savoy, or l%26#39;Ambroisie

There are lots of resources online for restaurant prices. Start with the website for restaurants of interest.
Note that your options will likely be limited by whether or not you can book at this late date.
Another good resource for prices

If you choose a degustation menu, the price for most places will be somewhere around 250-300 euros per person, plus the cost of wine. Some, like L%26#39;Arpege, will be more, others a little less.
Keep in mind that this is the price for the set menu. If you order ALC, the prices can swiftly double.

Recommendations are hard to make without knowing what type of places you have enjoyed in the past (so we have a reference point) and what you are hoping to find.
