One day itinerary

We are cruising in for one day in August and don%26#39;t have much time (7-3). I am interested in sitting on a nice beach, and am open to any MUST NOT MISS items. Please give me any advice on what to see and how to get to town from the cruise port. I have heard cabs are hard to grab due to the high traffic.

Are you arriving in cannes itself or elsewhere on the coast?

If you arriving in cannes its an easy walk , no need to a taxi

Cannes has a number of very nice beaches, one good public one and others owned by various hotels. Any would be a good choice for a day of enjoying the beautiful Mediterranean. Then you can stroll around the town, perhaps visit the open-air markets, look at the yachts in the marina, and have a fine lunch at La Pizza. That%26#39;s a terrific restaurant down on the marina end of the Croisette (the main boulevard along the sea); it offers a full menu, not just the world%26#39;s best pizza.

The famous Carlton hotel has an excellent beach; you pay for an umbrella and lounge chair and can order drinks and snacks.

Yes we are docking right in Cannes. Any idea of the price to get on the Carlton beach? I am going to try to make up a plan and will post it when I am ready to have it reviewed. Thanks!

My husband and I are going to be in Cannes on a cruise as well in September. Did you end up going to the Carlton Hotel beach? How was it? How much did it cost? Did you eat at their buffet?

Thanks,

Nikki
