Viator or FranceTourisme ? (Chambord, Chenonceau, Cheverny)

I am trying to choose between Viator Company and FranceTourisme Company. They both offer a one-day (12-hour) coach tour of the 3 famous chateaus in the Loire Valley (Chambord, Chenonceau, Cheverny) during the last week of November, 2008. Have you used either company for this tour ? Thanks for you help, LouisianaRedneck.

I know this thread is dormant since Nov 2008 but I am currently planning to book a day tour to Loire Valley with FranceTourisMe. Does anyone know if this company is good?

As you have taken the time to research through the forum I%26#39;d like to help if I can. Of the three châteaux mentioned in the title, Chambord Chenonceau are consider by many as perhaps among the most interesting. Cheverny is often included because its interior is fully furnished and it is located between the other two.

However, I personally do not recommend spending 12 hours cramped into a bus just to quickly visit these locations unless you have already seen the châteaux within easy reach of Paris: Chantilly, Versailles, Fontainebleau, and Vaux-le-Vicomte.

I believe that the Loire Valley is best explored by taking a 2-3 day trip through the region. Keep in mind that as the first day of winter approaches in December, the available sunlight diminishes rapidly and much of such a trip will be entirely in darkness.

Acknowledging that there may be those who are none the less interested in a one-day Loire Valley visit from Paris, I am unaware of a great distinction among the companies and might suggest you take a look at the Greyline tours in addition to the company you mention.
