I%26#39;m off to Paris this weekend for the first time, arriving at around 10am on the Saturday and leaving about 5pm on Sunday.
What is the travel ticket to get for the 2 days.
I was thing of just buying a carnet, but is there a one/two day travelcard that would be more cost effective?

You could use Mobilis day tickets (€5.90 for zones 1-2), or the Paris Visite (€14.40 for 2 days in zones 1-3).
Assuming that you won%26#39;t want to use the tickets to go to Versailles, the airports, Disneyland, etc., you%26#39;ll probably only be travelling in zone 1 (Central Paris).

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I%26#39;m travelling by Eurostar, and only plan to travel within the central zone.
So the Mobilis ticket looks a good option.
Is there an easy place to get these at the Eurostar station?

Although the Mobilis is cheaper, you might prefer the ParisVisit card as it discounts to some things you might be visiting. Have a look at page 2 here - ratp.info/picts/…20paris-touriste.pdf
You can Paris transport (and other tickets) in the UK from here - http://www.helloparis.co.uk/ It does cost a little more than getting them in Paris, but you may find it worthwhile to save worrying about it on your arrival.

The Paris Visite card seems a lot more popular. We had no problems with it.

I think the Paris Visite card is sold at the Information Desk in the departure area at St Pancras. They certainly have a general leaflet including the Metro map which is worth picking up.

We were given a Paris map/guide with our Paris Visite passes.Very clear and detailed map of the city- best one I had. Also clear Ile De France and metro maps.Has info about museums and monuments as well.I bought the AA guide book before We went, and read up on Paris and the sights, so had some idea of what we wanted to do.
