Eurostar - part of package or book separately?

I’m wondering if anyone can advise if there are any pros %26amp; cons for booking Eurostar travel together with Disney? From a price perspective, it would appear to be cheaper to book Eurostar separately, in particular if you’re opting for Leisure Select seats. Are there any added services if booking via Disney?

Thanks,

You can get your luggage transfered straight to your hotel when booking as part of a package and the same on your return journey.

you can apparently call disney and get disney express added on to your package, even if you dont book the train with them as long as you have the train details, at a cost of £15 per person

tbh i am booking seperate as the cost of the holiday with the train vs the cost of without the train is ridiculous, over £300 more for 2 of us on one quote, considering you can get a eurostar return from around £59 per person!!

I think you have to shop around, as some packages give extra free nights, including park tickets.

We booked First class on the Eurostar once- carriage seemed more or less the same, and the breakfast was the same as you can buy in the buffet for under 10 euros.

Just go standard now!

Hi Figgygirl,

Thanks for your response. Since my query last July, I have made my booking separately (direct with DLP)for mid Dec and have taken advantage of the Free meals deal. Fantastic offer BTW. Difference between the Extra Night offer and Free meals for us was just GBP50. Have yet to book my Eurostar travel, still pondering on whether I should go for First Class or not. My thinking - its my family%26#39;s (hubby, kids age 7 %26amp; 3)first time ever trip to DLP and first time winter experience for the kids. Wanted to make it as memorable as possible, if the budget permits. Perhaps, just for experience, we might just do the first class for the outward journey and go standard on the way back. Think the kids (and mummy %26amp; daddy) would just crash on the way back of exhaustion. Think I can just about squeeze that in.

As for Disney Express, I have read in other forums that you could add that service by calling Disney, even if you%26#39;ve booked Eurostar separately. Have also read somewhere (need to be confirmed though, as I%26#39;m not sure) that you could include the service for the return trip at the hotel itself for a flat fee rather than on per person basis.

Just a bit of sharing..I%26#39;m really excited !!

The only reason we went first class on outward journey, was because standard seats were sold out when I booked. It cost quite a lot more, and I thought the carriages would be a bit more special.Only difference for me was that they bring you your meal. I wouldn%26#39;t pay the extra in future just for this.

You can request 4 seats with a table, which is handy for kids to do colouring etc. They get a free bag with activity pack at the station. We had a table once, without paying extra, just by chance. This was in standard seats.

Don%26#39;t leave it too long- December is popular the nearer you get to Christmas.

I read somewhere that is about 16 euros to use the Express service independently, but not sure if that covers both ways.

I would phone your hotel and ask.

Be aware it may be VERY cold, so pack warm clothes, and you may need to buy the kids gloves and warm hats before you come!If the 3 yr old is using a pushchair/buggy it is worth bringing a small blanket to tuck round them.

Nothing worse than being freezing cold.
