Hello,
I%26#39;m looking for a place to stay for a little under 6 months this Winter with my dog. I%26#39;m looking for a place my dog can wander around off leash and not be bothered by cars. He is a black lab mix, extremely well behaved, and stays around me wherever I go. I have narrowed down the list to:
1) Tourrettes-Sur-Loup
2) Old town Menton
3) Biot
4) Haut-de-Cagnes
I%26#39;m hoping that some of these places aren%26#39;t completely dead in the Winter. I don%26#39;t need discos but it would be nice if cafes actually had people in them and the atmosphere was at least a little lively.
Does anybody have any suggestions? Is there another hill town I should look at? Thanks in advance for your help.

It probably depends where you can get accommodation. Tourrettes has a good all year round and arty residents. Local cafes still operate everywhere for locals. Lots of small streets to wander with your dog. Fine off lead as long as he comes back to you on command.

MOving - I would stay away from Menton, probably the dullest place on the Cote.
I agree Tourettes-sur -Loup is very nice and the artistic environment makes it very attractive. But it is slightly cut off as regards getting to other places and also gets quite cold in the winter - with yes, -- frost. Not many palm trees here.
Very subjectively I would go for Biot - a beautiful village but with good communications - with Haut de Cagnes, more built up, but a good second choice.
