Hi everyone!
My mother and I are headed to Paris in a couple of weeks. I have been there before, but she has not. This is the first time that she is leaving the country, so we are both pretty excited.
My question is in regards to getting from our flat to CDG. We are stating very near to the Pyramides metro station. Our plane leaves around noon on a Friday. Which way do you think is the best way to get to CDG? We are trying to be inexpensive, but still have reliable transportation. My mom is 65, and is okay shape, so lugging her suitcase for any length of time, might to be the best thing. I have thought about a taxi to get the Rosseybus, or walking for the AirFrance bus (but that might be too far).
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Maybe you take a bus/metro to Etoile then the AF coach?

Walking to rue Scribe/Opera for the Roissybus looks to be about600m / 15 minutes walk.

Your best bet, if you want to economize and minimize walking with luggage, would be to taxi to an Air France stop. Air France drivers handle your bags, the ride is in a very comfortable coach bus, and stops are right at the terminals.
With Roissybus, you have to handle your own bags, but stops are convenient to all the terminals at CDG.
If you and she will be able to manage the walking, stairs, bags, on the metro, you may as well take the RER (cheapest).

Thank you both for your help. I am thinking that we are going to try the RER, though that might change. Is Les Halles a difficult RER station to maneuver around? I thought that we could go take a look before hand and see what she thought. Also, catching a taxi to get us to the RER station, do we just go to a designated taxi area?
Thanks again.

My sense is that you should seriously consider a taxi. True it will cost 50 euros but both of you will be tired upon arrival (I%26#39;m assuming you are arriving from the US) and carrying your luggage with the RER stairs will not be convenient.
Consider a shuttle if you like but avoiding the frustration and possible complications of an underground arrival into Paris will be worth the additional expense.
After you have checked into your hotel, then use the Metro at a more relaxed pace to explore the city.

Out of curiosity, how are you getting from CDG to your flat? Maybe once you get there you can decide afterwards how to get back. I flew American in July, and it is a long walk between the part of terminal 2 where American flies and the RER station. I%26#39;m just letting you know that, I know you didn%26#39;t post what airline/terminal is involved. You may want to think about a taxi or car service.

After having just done this both ways, I heartily recommend taking a taxi. I%26#39;m certain you could manage okay using other transportation...but honestly, by the end of the trip you%26#39;re going to be fairly exhausted. I%26#39;d cut back on whatever other expenses I could and spring for a taxi ride to the airport. It just takes the stress out of the end of the trip and is a real gift to your body at that point! :) Allow plenty of time so you%26#39;re not worried about getting caught in traffic. But I%26#39;d say reduce the stress and book a taxi for the ride back to CDG.
Have a wonderful trip!
