Hi there,

The Carlton is a lovely building- the oldest and most famous hotel in Cannes.

We have never stayed there, but several recent reviews of the standard rooms are available on TA and on other sites such as

http://www.booking.com/hotel/fr/intercontinental-carlton-cannes.html?sid=2ff93d64f6efdf4b37578f88da3f5160;tab=4

There is construction going on at the rear of the hotel at the moment, so probably advisable to check that your room will not be affected.

Hope this helps

thanks for the advice we will get in touch and make sure

We stayed at the Carlton during a conference, and our room was small, hot, and not very nice--especially when compared to the beautiful rooms that looked across the Croisette to the sea. Try to avoid the basic rooms and you%26#39;ll be happier.

Hi -

Two educated guesses -

Standard rooms - 25 sq. metres

Lunch - a lot - I followed up a some review websites and the comments were, in essence, a fixed price lunch of €25 was very reasonable. And this was about a %26quot;good value for money%26quot; restaurant. I may be wrong, but I%26#39;ve always heard Brits use that phrase to mean affordable or not too expensive.

The reviews of the restaurant all say that service and food are outstanding, so my guess is that, if you can afford the big splurge, you won%26#39;t be unhappy with the experience. It might well turn out to be the highlight of your holiday.
