French Alps Itinerary Questions/Help?

Hi, your help/insights would be helpful. My wife and I are preparing plans for a Paris-Alps-Burgundy trip for early next July.

We%26#39;re planning on 4-5 days in the Haute-Savoie. We%26#39;ll be taking the train from Paris to Annecy and overnight/visit there. We want to saty in the Chamonix area for a couple of nights and do sight-seeing in that area, including Mt. Blanc, etc.

We%26#39;ll have 1-2 more days and are looking for a picturesque, small village, mountain setting...probably not all that difficult to find, just a lot of options to try to sort through. Not sure we want to be in one of the more active outdoor sport areas, like Le Git from what I read, but we%26#39;re open. We could do this stop before or after our Chamonix stay.

Here are the options I%26#39;ve been considering...reactions/input to these, or offers of some of your own, please: Samoen/Morzine area; go over to Italy to visit Arosta and/or Cormeyeur; Abondance area; Cormet de Roseland. Others to consider? Thank you very much.
