Travel in and out of Grenoble

My daughter will be studying in Grenoble France, next spring. I am taking a group of students to Italy and will put them on the plane in Rome. From there I need to travel to Grenoble, spend a few days there and fly back to Denver, Colorado. I am looking for advice on traveling to Grenoble from Rome (train, plane, etc). I am also looking for advice on what airport to fly out of for my return flight home.

Hi,

This is bit of a thinker I am afraid...i would imagine you will be able to find a flight from Rome to Grenoble, and also should be able to fly from Grenoble to Colorado (my not be direct though I am not 100% sure.

The other main two airports in the Grenoble area which would offer flights to Colorado are Lyon and Geneva (these should be reached in around two hours or so by coach from Grenoble) if you are unable to find a flight from Grenoble airport itself.

The contact numbers for the airports are

Lyon www.lyon.aeroport.fr Tel +33 (0)8 26 80 08 26

Geneva www.gva.ch Tel +41 22 717 71 11

Grenoble www.grenoble-aeroport.com Tel +33 (0)4 76 65 48 48 , email info@grenoble-aeroport.com

I hope some of this is helpfull to you, and all the best with your plans.

Jon.

You%26#39;ll find only 5 low cost companies at Grenoble airport, with short distance GB/northern Europe destinations (with no transfer, Rome is not among these destinations. Here are the useful details on the airport website:

Check either Lyon or Geneva airports. There is a convenient Easyjet flight from Rome to Lyon (we took it twice, it was cheap and just perfect). But there is no direct flight from Lyon to Denver, you%26#39;ll have to change in London (if you fly BA), in Paris or Amsterdam (if you fly AF/KLM) or in Frankfurt (if you fly Lufthansa).
