We will be in Paris for our first time in February. We%26#39;re staying at a hotel near the Saint-Paul metro stop. We%26#39;ll be needing transportation to CDG on our way home.
Does anyone know approximately how long it would take on the metro and what the best route would be?
Do we need to go to the Gare de Lyon stop first and take a train from there to the airport or can we take the metro from Saint-Paul directly to CDG?
Our flight leaves on a Monday morning, would this make a difference in timing?
Our main concern, of course, is getting to the airport on time. Would it be better to take a taxi than the metro?
Thank you for any help you can offer!

Take a taxi if you can. The connection between métro line-1 (St-Paul) and the RER-B is at Chatelet/Les Halles is usually not too bad but on your way to the airport when you need to catch a flight, I wouldn%26#39;t recommend it.

That%26#39;s what I thought. I appreciate your quick reply. Thank you!

If your flight from CDG is one to the USA, arrive there 3 hours before scheduled departure planning on 1 additional hour to reach the airport.

Oops, I forgot to ask: Do you know approximately how long it will take to get to the airport via taxi from that area (Marais)?
|||
%26quot;Rush hour%26quot; on weekday mornings begins around 08h30 and it%26#39;s focused toward the center of Paris, not the outer suburbs where CDG lies.
I%26#39;d allow a full hour for the taxi ride. It will probably be more like 45 minutes.
|||
Thank you both, this has been very helpful.
In Paris, can one bartar with a taxi driver over the price of a trip? I%26#39;ve never been to France and don%26#39;t know the ettiquette.

No, the meter price plus baggage fees and extra passenger fees are fixed. Tipping is the only variable and 5% would be a good ceiling to use.
