Could anyone give me their opinion as to if the %26quot;Leisure Select%26quot; tickets are worth the difference in price, and what the actual difference between the %26quot;standard%26quot; and %26quot;Leisure Select%26quot; tickets are on Eurostar? Thank you for any help!

On %26quot;Leisure Select%26quot; you get a complimentary meal, drinks and newspaper. There%26#39;s a bit more room. Here%26#39;s the comparison chart - eurostar.com/UK/…comparison_chart.jsp
Only you can decide if it%26#39;s worth the extra money for a 3.5 hour journey. I%26#39;ve never been tempted.

Particularly now that the journey takes just a little more than 2.25 hours...

Duh! I have no idea why I said it was that long. Old age is catching up on me. :-(
Oh, I know! I was forgetting French time is GMT+1. I was using the leaving and arrival times rather than just using my memory.
Yeah, it%26#39;s a lot of money extra and people in LS don%26#39;t get there any quicker.

Thanks so much for the info! I%26#39;m not interested in the food,etc. I was more interested in the comfort, as we will have just flown in from California. As long as the standard tix have reserved seats, I think I%26#39;ll go with the standard ticket. Do you get a confirmed and assigned seat with a standard ticket? Thanks for your time!

%26gt; Do you get a confirmed and assigned seat with a standard ticket? %26lt;
Yes. The potential downside of this is you have a specific seat on a specific train. If you%26#39;re delayed on your flight it can be inconvenient, so leave plenty of slack. The upside outweighs this downside though.
And, generally, the earlier you buy your ticket, the cheaper it is.

Leisure Select is an upgrade to first class -- bigger seats, more legroom, ideally fewer children running about (a hazard in Standard, or second class). I don%26#39;t think access to the business class lounges is included. The upgrade is worth it if the price difference is 15-30 euros, given the airline-style meal and beverages included (I haven%26#39;t had it myself, but my wife, who did just such an upgrade, thought well of it). Otherwise, as others have posted, its only a two hour, 15 minute journey, so you won%26#39;t be missing too much opting for Standard.
