Paris in early Dec. Please help where to stay

We are visiting Paris for the first time (as a family). My wife and I went there years ago (like twenty)when I was a kid. We have a 3.5 yr old daughter.

Please advise where would be the best place to stay for 4 days. We are going Nov 29-Dec 4 this year. I wanted to be someplace where I could maybe walk to most of the shops/sites. I realize I will need to use public transit too (subway/bus).

Thanks everybody!

I forgot to add, I am hoping to keep the room charge around the 167 euro range. Thanks.

Nov 29 to Dec 4th is actually 5 nights.

At 167 euros you have lots of options.

I can recommend the Hotel le Clement. The location is good in the 6th, right near the metro and shopping streets. A short walk to the luxembourg gardens which would be good for your daughter.

Their junior suite is 160 euros and would be a nice size.

Another option to get more space for similar (or less money) would be to rent an apartment.

Vacation in Paris is a good agency based out of NY - prices in dollars and have been used by many people on this forum. Take a look their options in the 5th or 6th (or 4th)

Give Best Western a try. Lots of them around Paris, in all price ranges

A previous poster mentioned Best Western. Try the Jardin de Cluny Best Western. Great location, close to Metro stops, cafes, restaurants, a great street market, etc.

Hi -

A couple of things -

Double check for reviews of Best Western hotels in Europe before you commit to one. My husband lately has found that some don%26#39;t meet the usual BW standard - %26quot;dumps%26quot; was how he described them.

If you decide to take an apartment, look at the apartment/suite hotels. With a small child, I doubt that you want to be dragging all the paraphernalia up and down stairs, and the hotels generally have lifts. Additionally, if something ceases to operate, there is someone on hand to deal with it immediately. Also, there will be lots of hot water.

For an apartment stay, I always take with me a good sharp knife and a good non-stick pan.

Thanks to everyone so far who has replied. I will stick with the hotels. I was looking at BW, but realized that not all are %26quot;up to snuff%26quot;.

Trensandeigo, you are correct 5 days:). Thanks for the heads up on the location/hotel. I will check it out.
