If you book quickly enough you might still be able to get into this favourite Motorcyclist%26#39;s haunt in Arromanches. You will like it as the host, Adrian is very bike orientated, and nuttily keen on all things D-Day so a mine of useful information:

Thanks Essex Wanderer, will explore that info.

Normandy beaches looks ideal for us, anyone stayed there?

Yes, Rod, I stayed there in 2004 - I don%26#39;t think it had been open long then though. Now it is very popular and if you want to go there, you will need to book well ahead.
The rooms are spacious and fun - the Host has lots of interesting books and memorablila and each room has a different D-Day or service %26#39;theme%26#39; to get you in the mood for beachy trips.
The Breakfast was good and you will get a lot of local Info from Adrian, the Patron...
There is plenty of safe parking for your beloved bikes, an honour-bar, it is walking distance from the seafront and a lot of the good Restaurants of the town. You can have a %26#39;bike-free%26#39; day in Arromanches, admiring the Mulberry Harbour, visiting the small museum and the 360%26#39; theatre on the top of the cliffs, where you can also walk along for a great view over the Channel and some of the beaches, and one of the gun batteries is up there somewhre, too. I think there is also a big war cemetary up there somewhere.
Don%26#39;t get me wrong, I love motorbike touring, but sometimes it is nice to have a %26#39;day off%26#39; from leathers, boots and helmets when you are sightseeing!!!
Arromanches is pretty %26#39;central%26#39; though in the D-Day region so a good base for covering most places of interest - WEST to Pont d%26#39;Hoc, EAST to the Pegasus Bridge, and many other points of interest in between.

Thanks Essex, I have contacted Karen and penciled in our dates we will be taking all the rooms and be staying for a week some of us are quite familiar with Normandy I was just wondering what sort of standard the %26quot;beaches%26quot; is as I have a pretty mixed bag of couples that like their comfort if you know what I mean.

OK well, you are not going to be staying in the lap of %26#39;ritz%26#39; luxury, the rooms are more like country %26#39;lofts%26#39; but they are all spacious, light and airy. The en-suite to the room I had was pretty decent, overall pretty good %26#39;biker%26#39; accommodation IMO.
You can have a look at the rooms on the website, to give you an idea.
I%26#39;m sure you will enjoy it there, I would certainly go back some day and stay for longer.
