Arriving by cruise ship on a Tuesday in October and want to go to Cagnes sur Mer to Renoir Museum and Garden. Will be in port from 8am to 6pm. Need train or other best schedule.

Yes, the gardens are shut on tuesdays too.

In Villefranche Chapelle Saint-Pierre decorated by Jean Cocteau is open on tuesday though the museums in the citadelle are shut
In Nice at Cimiez -there is Fransiscan church and monastery Fransican museum and rose garden , Roman amphitheatre and olive grove are open on a tuesday [though the archaoleogical museum and access to site and matisse musuem are shut]
The rose garden etc is really lovely and you can see quite a bit of the archaoelogical site as well as the amphitheatre plus all the amazing buildings built for visiting aristocrats and royalty at the end of the 19th C - esp Regina bulding.
Also Chapell de la Rosaire in Vence - matisse%26#39;s masterpiece apparently is open 10h to 11h30 and from 14h30 to 17h30 on tuesdays if that helps at all
