Hello , we visit paris for 3 days early oct i do not speak french and i also can not read anything in french. We are staying at the hotel Acte V which is close to the latin quarter, we are a 10 min walk to notre damm apparently. What i am asking you dear people is to help me construct which to you maybe a simple plan but to me its a night mare. We have 3 whole days we will be up early every morning and we like to walk or if needed catch a bus or train to get about, if i can give you a list of things that i think my wife would like to do maybe you could give me some suggestions of spreading the attractions out over the 3 days. This is a suprise anniversary trip so it would be great to have a plan worked out regarding what we see on what day rather going round paris wasting time. Here is a list of things i think we would like to do-arc de triompe- moulin rouge notre mam- eiffel tower- pantheon louvre jardin des plantes -cattacombs- a 2 or 3 hour walk along the seine, if you would like to add a couple of sights please do. Also for each day bearing in mind where we may at the end of each day a suggestion of a place to have supper, buget would be about 100 euro thanks for your help.

i think another hour or two and after a few replies i%26#39;ii have our trip worked out, thanks

Do you have a map of Paris? Find one oneline or in a guidebook or the library and get an idea of where the sites you are interested in are in reference to each other.
Do you just want to see Moulin Rouge from outside?
Do you want to go up Eiffel Tower?
Do you want to go inside any museums?
Give us a little more info on your interests.
An overview of the city on a Hop on Hop off bus might be a good start. Definitely take a boat cruise one evening. Some leave from Eiffel area, some from foot of Pont Neuf.
I will be back with some ebsites for you later

Hi i think we would like to go inside moulin rouge and i would like to climb the eiffel tower without to much waiting to do so. I would also like to view the tower at night when the lights are on. Museums and art gallerys are not to important to us, just the general sightseeing. Thanks.

Be at Tower 30 min. before opening for shortest lines and maybe late afternoon it thins out too. The only time I went up was late March about 3 pm and worst wait was at second level elevator. Viewing from Trocadero side of river and crossing the bridge toward tower at night is amazing!!
I think the only way to see inside Mou. Rouge is to reserve for a show. Not something I am interested in and the outside is unimpressive IMO
Try sitting a cafes outside in different areas and watch the chic and not so chic pass by. Walk through Tuileries and Luxembourg gardens. If you decide you%26#39;d like to see a little art the Garden at the Rodin museum is 1 euro and has most of his large works in the garden. L%26#39;Orangerie in the Tuileries has Monets waterlilies and an excellent collection downstairs and can be done in about an hour if need be.

Get yourself the Michelin Paris Arrondissements map book, it%26#39;s light, very informative and easy to read. Locate your hotel on the propper map and mark it. Pick the place you want to go that is the farthest from your hotel, the guide book pinpoints all the great sites, mark that. If you then look at the pages between your hotel and the site you%26#39;ve picked, you%26#39;ll easily see what is along that route. There are so many wonderful things to see in Paris, you need a plan even if your there for an extended time.
Don%26#39;t worry about the language, learn the very simple polite words, bonjour, Merci, pardon, etc.
The French are wonderful and very helpful if you need assistance. JUST BE POLITE !
I would save the inside of the Louvre for when you have a week or more in Paris, but walk through the grounds.

Gunboat4444, what day and time will you be arriving? If we know what 3 days of the week you are staying, then we can suggest activities based on what is going on. I think, for example, it would be really fun to visit a street market--probably the one in %26quot;your%26quot; neighborhood at rue Mouffetard. It%26#39;s great on Saturday mornings--are you there on a Saturday?

Dear all, we arrive early about 7..00am on monday 5th oct and leave thurs 8th at about 9..30pm. We will be up and out early each morning. I was just hoping a few of you people in the know would help plan our activerties for the 3 days and possibly a restaurant each night with in our budget in the area we might be in. If there is a market on i know my wife would like to visit it. Maybe after reading a few posts we will not bother with the moulin rouge. Thanks and it would be great to have our trip planned out each day with the help of you guys if you are happy to do so, thankyou.

First, congratulations on being a romantic and giving your wife this great surprise! (How much of a surprise? You will be letting her know she might need to pack a good frock if you%26#39;re eating somewhere special, going to a theatre, won%26#39;t you? BTW, the advice I hear most often is Comfortable Shoes! but you say you guys are accustomed walkers anyway. )

Wednesday (Day #0 again)
Go to the airport.
On Monday and Tuesday, I’m using the L’Open Tour/Batobus two day combi ticket to get about. pariscityrama.com/files/…OPENTOUR.pdf So my schedule is deliberately not jam-packed so that I can travel from place to place, viewing key sites/sights en route.
Things like going to church and going to a liturgical bookshop are obviously personal idiosyncracies. As are 3 operas.
As are the planned meals – they’re challenges to myself because I can be timid, and yet when someone on TA asked me ‘of what?’, I couldn’t say!
I deliberately decided not to queue for the Big Monuments and Museums, happy to be driven past them by bus or boat.
I’m hoping to enjoy this taster so much that I will return and return, can view the other things another time. I’m hoping that this trip will give me a taste.
Does it help your planning?
Oh, I’ve drawn myself a table in MS Publisher and planned my activities across it. I’ve planned all my outfits too but that might not be your scene!
