Best Area to Stay?

Where in Paris is the best area to stay? I am looking for hostels around Paris but I want to be in an area that is good walking distance to most sites, and also a good night life. Does any such place exist? Any hostels you can recommend?

Experts usually recommend you stay within the single digit arrs. Having walked around Paris a little bit it seems to me the Latin Quarter is a great area to stay, very central to pretty much everything but as with everything it is a matter of personal preferences and budget. I recomment you read as much as you can about the city%26#39;s different areas. No matter where you decide to stay moving from place to place in Paris is very easy by metro, bus or boat.

I recently stayed in the 9th Arondissement and loved it. It was just a quick Metro ride to pretty much anything I wanted to see! And I liked the feel of the neighborhood, as well - not so touristy! It felt more like the %26quot;real%26quot; Paris.

I stayed at the Villathena hotel on rue d%26#39;Athenes. Loved the hotel, too! I don%26#39;t know of any hostels in the area, but got a great rate on that particular hotel through Expedia.
