Paris and Countryside

I am going to France next year and would like to stay for a week in Paris and the countryside (am

open to suggestions on the regions).

We are travelling with our 10 year old son so would like to have a pool in Paris and countryside and

we want to be in self-contained apartments.

I would be grateful for suggestions,we are travelling

in August.Thank-you.

Just to clarify, are you planning one week in Paris and one in the countryside, or one week in the countryside withing easy reach of Paris. If the forner, I guess you will have little luck with finding a self-catering apartment with a pool in Paris although in August Paris Plage will presumably be in operation along side the Seine.

For the surroung areas, have a look at the forums for, say, Normandt and Champagne. Gites with pools are less uncommon. I cannot help with specific recommendations I%26#39;m afraid.

Pretty much no chance of finding accommodation in Paris with a pool (restricted to only some of the higher end hotels). Use the public swimming pools - there are several options.

For gites (or B%26amp;Bs) in the country there are many with pools.

I%26#39;d recommend the Loire valley because it%26#39;s not too far from Paris and the castles are ideal for a 10 year old boy.
