street parking

We will be staying at Chateau de Bellefontaine. If we were to drive into Bayeux, is there parking available?

Yes, but not in the centre as this is a pedestrian zone. Follow the signs for parking, as in every French town.

From the Bellfontaine you get on to the by pass and go left. You go past the station and come to a roundabout where there%26#39;s a coach and car park. That%26#39;s not far from the tapestry and town center.

If you follow the road past the car park into town you go past some lights behind the cathedral then come to the post office. Opposite is the Reine Mathilde hotel with a small road leading to a car park which is just behind the Churchill, nearly in the town center and free. In October you should find a place there.

Thanks again for such a detailed response!

Do you recommend a favorite dining experience?

The main street which is pedestrianised at the lower part has a great choice of restaurants. If you stroll around looking at the menus, decor and prices you%26#39;ll find something to please you. Restaurants often cited as being good are La Râpière, Le Pommier (near the cathedral facade), Le Drakar, La Table du Terroir
