What kind of camera do you use for Paris?

On my last trip, I was using the Nikon Coolpix L15. Nice camera and about $150. On my next trip, I will be upgrading to the Panasonic Lumix ZS3.

We have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5, which we like quite a bit, but I decided to purchase a DSLR (Canon Rebel XSI). Although more bulky, I%26#39;m glad I upgraded for a trip of this significance.

Enjoy your trip!

Wow, that Cannon DSLR sounds pretty amazing! One of these days I want to get a Cannon high end. Great stuff.

I bought a Panasonic TZ4 a few months ago to replace a bulkier Kodak. For me the most important points are small size and decent zoom.

I can fit the Lumix in my pocket and it has 10x zoom.

Bean meaning to ask, Willie... who does your hair? ;^)

I’m sure that there are many excellent models out there, but my main criterion is that a camera be very small. My current model is three-year-old Canon SD 300. I%26#39;m sure that I%26#39;ll upgrade in the future, but to me, the most important thing is that it be unobtrusive and easily hidden -- the size of a deck of cards. And yet, I’ve taken some okay shots with this little fellow. You can see some here: http://parisandbeyondinfrance.blogspot.com/

I have the Panasonic Lumix ZS3. It%26#39;s compact and has a 25 mm angle lense, so I can take shots of wide squares and sights.

I%26#39;ve been using various Canon Powershot SD cameras (currently SD 800 IS) because if the camera doesn%26#39;t fit in my pocket I don%26#39;t carry it!

So far I haven%26#39;t missed having a superzoom - I find I%26#39;m usually shooting at wide angle.

I%26#39;ve got a Canon Powershot S90 on order now - looking forward to having better low light performance and semi-professional options.

I was looking at the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 for the past year and while it%26#39;s a great camera I felt it was too bulky for me and I hate having to deal with a lens cap.

These days pretty much all cameras work great and will produce excellent photos - the key factors are what features you want most rather than camera quality.

I used to have the Canon ELPH. Loved it, but it died, so I got a Nikon. Not so thrilled with its colors and around the same time I met a Lumix. The photos are fantastic, so I have ordered the ZS6. Should have it by next week. 12x optical zoom. Yipee!

As for my Canon dslr. I love it, but only use it for nature and rural work. Too big and bulky to lug in the city and people are too likely to see it and respond as I try to take candid shots.

Hi -

I don%26#39;t particularly like the colour rendition of Nikon%26#39;s optics. I have an Olympus Camedia D560 which I like as a pocket camera, a Pentax K100D Digital SLR, which I like a lot, and my very favourites, my Leica film bodies and fabulous, fast, lenses. My dream is to get a Leica digital SLR, but I think I%26#39;ll have to wait for a significant wedding anniversary for that one. The Leicas require a bearer, and someone to watch my back, so they go on the road only when my husband is available to travel with me.

I will be bringing my Nikon D90 along for my trip to London, Paris %26amp; Rome in 3 weeks%26#39; time. Anyway I don%26#39;t mind the bulkiness as I think the picture quality will more than compensate for it and the weight of the camera will prevent camera shake. I have been carrying slr since the film days and I am used to it

Will take my Nikon D50 SLR to our trip to London %26amp; Paris next year (and Shanghai this year), as well as my Canon Powershot SD 750, which fits great into my pocket for a quick shot, it also takes nice mini HD video.

I have a zoom lens for my Nikon so there are certain shots that I wouldn%26#39;t be able to take with the Canon. :-)
