Football Games in Nice / Monaco / Marseille Sat 26 Sept

Hi,

I am going to be in Nice for a conference in late September and I have Sept 26 free. I was thinking of catching a football game - either Nice or Monaco, or failing which, Marseille.

Does anyone have any hints / tips re: getting tickets (and prices), access to the various stadia, safety issues etc? I%26#39;d be most grateful.

I have a sub-par basic knowledge of French, so the websites of the clubs haven%26#39;t helped much.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, many thanks for this. I%26#39;ve noticed that the game is a 1900 kickoff, and that there are trains to Nice from Monaco after the game.

How safe is it to walk from the Louis II Stadium to the train station after football games?

what sort of safety concerns do you have in mind?

We are both women, so our concerns are mainly regarding travel after dark, especially from Monaco to Nice; as well as the crowd at the game itself.

I%26#39;ve been to many football games in England and the environment has been family friendly thus far, but not quite sure what to expect in France.

I have not heard of crowd trouble in Ligue 1 (as opposed to say, frequent stabbing news from Italy), but I suppose someone local would know more.
