dijon over new years

Hello

My husband and i are meeting up with family in paris in mid january 2010 and thought about doing a few days in dijon and lyons prior to paris. we are flying into paris on the 1st and were planning to head straight to dijon for a few nights then onto lyons.

My question is; are the main attractions, shops, restaurants etc, closed over the new year period in dijon? also can you only book hotel victor hugo by calling them?
