Anyone got advice on driving from CDG to DLP

We are going to DLP on 21st November for 6 days. We are considering hiring a car and driving from CDG to DLP. We are staying in the Marriott Village.

Can anyone advise what the journey is like? The time factor and how difficult is it? We recently drove in Spain and have driven in the USA, but have never drove in France.Just heard a few horror stories that is putting us of driving. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Driving from CDG to DLP is a very simple affair. It%26#39;s even easier on a Saturday as there are no large truck on A104 - A4. Plan on about one hour.

The question is why do you need a car or where do you plan on going such that it would be practical to have one?

Hi -

If you%26#39;re going to be parking the car for several days, don%26#39;t rent one on arrival. Wait until you%26#39;ll be making a day trip, and rent it then. Three days of rental will be cheaper than 6 days worth.

I don%26#39;t think the driving is the problem in France. It%26#39;s the parking. Additionally, I don%26#39;t like renting a car because the driver has to look at the road while the passengers get to look at the scenery. It doesn%26#39;t seem fair to me.

BTW, I know that Brits always complain bitterly about how difficult it is to drive in France. I never understand why they complain since I%26#39;ve never had any trouble with it. Perhaps it%26#39;s just part of the great British tradition of whining and moaning about all things French.

When I do rent a car, I%26#39;m able to get around very nicely, thank you, because I can read a map. I%26#39;ve never had any trouble driving in places where the %26quot;right side%26quot; is on the left, either, whether in the UK, Japan, Australia, or in New Zealand. I think you folks will find it easy, as well, it just seems costly to rent a car to watch it sit in a parking lot, unless you get the rental deal of the century.

I have driven in France often and have no idea what %26quot;horror%26quot; stories you%26#39;ve heard.

In fact, of all western Europe and North America I prefer driving in France the most.

Thanks for all your replys, it has given us a few things to think about. I think the parking issue is a valid one. We were thinking of going to Paris for the day and touring round a bit as well as disney.

We will definately look into all options. We have a two year old daughter so the freedom of a car appealed the most and not having to worry ref timetables etc.for public transport.

For a trip into Paris, purchase a zone 1-5 Mobilis ticket 13.20€. These tickets are good for the entire day anywhere you want to go within zone 5.

If you want to rent a car at Marne-la-Vallee, there is at least one rental company there but rentals of fewer than 3 days are probably no more expensive than one day day rentals.

There these companies:
