Arriving CDG terminal 2A - Question.....

Hello,

I arrive tomorow at 10:00 am in terminal 2A and was wondering where I can catch the Roissy Bus? and how often does this bus come by?

Also, I have to go to Ecole Militaire stop. Am I correct in saying that the Roissy Bus goes to the Opera, and then from the Opera I take Metro Line 8 ( towards Ballard) to get to ecole militare?

How long will this journey take to the Ecole stop?

Thank you!!!!1

Board the Roissy bus curbside of Terminal 2A. Look for the signs. From the customs exit, you may need to walk along the curb a bit (to the right).

Buses come regularly but you should not need wait more than 30 minutes, it should be less.

The instructions you have are accurate. Plan on 8.90€ or the bus, 1.60€ for the Metro. plan on 1 hour for the bus ride and 15 minutes in the Métro.

Alternatively you could take the RER/Métro from CDG to Ecole Militare for 8.50€ which will probably be a bit faster and definitely cheaper:

RER B to Gare du Nord,

disembark connecting M4 direction Porte d%26#39;Orléans,

disembark at Strasbourg/St. Denis connecting M8 direction Ballard

exit Ecole Militare.

You%26#39;re info sounds great! I decided that I will go to Paris next month to meet up with my son (traveling Europe). I am concerned about getting from CDG to a hotel alone (Female). I haven%26#39;t booked hotel yet, but can I catch the metro right at CDG? (I just ordered a book to help me, but I am really concerned about getting from CDG to hotel alone.) If I can get to Metro, I know I can do it! THANKS!!

I%26#39;m female. I travel to Europe alone quite regularly, have no trouble traveling safely on the RER or Metro at any hour of the day or night, and consequently, I don%26#39;t understand your question about travelling alone to your hotel.

The Metro doesn%26#39;t go to CDG. You must take the RER (a suburban rail service) to Gare du Nord and then get the Metro from there. Your hotel%26#39;s web site should give the Metro line # and Station name. My daughter made her first trip to Europe as soon as she graduated from high school. She was 15, travelling alone, and managed to get from CDG into town with no trouble at all. You%26#39;ll do the same.

WOW! Thanks--I feel better. I%26#39;m 60 yrs. old and have not been so adventurous for many years. Everyone here thinks that I am CRAZY! Thanks for boosting my confidence!

georgia2009 - the RER from CDG to Paris is dead easy. But you will need to drag you luggage up and down some stairs (with more stairs in the metro). So pack light (one modest rolly bag an hand luggage that can attach to it). Otherwise it%26#39;s easy.

The RER station is right in the airport and takes you directly to the Gare du Nord metro/train station where you transfer (using the same ticket) to the metro line of your choice.

You can also try to book a hotel within walking distance of an RER B stop past Gare du Nord (don%26#39;t recommend staying in that area, really), such as St. Michel/Notre Dame, or Luxembourg. St. Michel has escalators, I don%26#39;t think Luxembourg does, so bear that in mind, if you are schlepping lots of luggage. Then you wouldn%26#39;t have to do a switch to the metro.
