Clubbing - Staying in La Defense

Hey there,

I%26#39;m traveling to Paris 11th-14th December with my partner and thinking of staying in La Defense as I found a fab hotel at a reasonable price...

1. Are there any clubs in the area?

2. If we have to venture into the city, how difficult is it to get a taxi from the city centre after a night out back to La Defense and approximately how much?

la Defense is the worst possible place to stay on a Paris visit -- instead of cab fare think about getting a place in Paris -- lots of club options in the 11th and the 5th where you can walk home

There are some very high end clubs in the 8th and 16th arrondissements which would not be too far from where you are. If that is not the kind of club you are looking for you are a long way from the trendier and less %26quot;beautiful people%26quot; clubs in Paris. I think you%26#39;ll find that the center of gravity (to use an ill-chosen term...) of younger, hipper club life is well to the northeast of the center of Paris. La Défense is almost as far as you can go in the opposite direction. And that aside there is virtually nothing of any kind at La Défense after about 6:00 pm.

Even if you have to downgrade to find an affordable hotel elsewhere — and you probably wouldn%26#39;t in e.g. the Oberkampf area — I think you should seriously consider a chage of venue...

One of the reasons I love the area. Peace and quiet after a hectic day in town.

Hi All, just to let you know I decided to stay in Royal Magda Etoile, it seems to be in the city centre and close to everything, I got a good price on it too.... €320 for 3 nights.... Hope it lives up to expectations!
